Manuals
This is the manual of the LeeO backoffice.
This is the manual for LeeO app V3.
All our API documentation is free accessible via this link.
It is possible to import information from other systems into LeeO. Please take a look here to see what import options there are available.
LeeO continues to optimize the usability of the app. Therefore, we release new versions of the app and solve problems in the already existing apps. When a new version is ready, LeeO has a group of main users who test this version of the app. This is called the beta group. New features can be tested, used and feedback can be given to improve the functionalities of the app even further.
How to apply to this beta-group:
- Go to the PlayStore on your phone. It has a triangle logo.
- Search for the LeeO Precision Farming app.
- When found, click on the app.
- Scroll down and search for the text about beta testing.
- Apply to the beta group.
- Google will now check your account and accept you to this group.
- You can now update your app to the newest version of the LeeO app and work with this version.
Also, check out the video if you need visual support.
LeeO continuously releases new versions of the app with bug fixes, new features, and solutions for problems. To be able to use these solutions, it is mandatory to update the LeeO app. In the PlayStore, you can choose to update the apps on your phone or tablet manually, or change the settings so your phone will update all apps automatically when a new version of an app is available.
To prevent working on old versions, which can contain problems that are already fixed in a new version of the app, you can change the settings in your PlayStore account.
Here is how:
- Go to the PlayStore.
- In the search area of the screen, you find a circle with your initial in it. Click on that circle.
- Go to settings
- Select network preferences
- Select auto-update apps
- Select:
Over Wi-Fi only: this means that your apps only will be updated when you are connected to Wi-Fi.
Over any network: this means that your apps will be automatically updated, even when you are on 4G or any other network. This may have data charges as a consequence.
We normally advise to select the first option: over Wi-Fi only.
Your apps will now be automatically updated, and you will be on the newest version of the LeeO app at any time (when frequently connected with Wi-Fi).
Sometimes it can occur that there are some problems with connecting your reader to your phone/tablet. This movie shows you the most frequent solutions that help restore a stable connection between your phone/tablet and the reader. One option not shown in the movie is resetting your reader. When you think the problem lies in the reader, turn on the reader, and press all 4 buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds, so the reader restarts. Try connecting with your phone again.

To perform actions regarding health, there are different options.
Registering a disease
Registering a disease gives insight into the illnesses occurring on your farm. Only report the disease, or start treatment by following the treatment plan you have added to your account. When you treat according to your treatment plan, actions will be shown on your work lists on the day you need to treat the animal.
Register medication
Register a single medication without adding a disease in ‘administer single medication’.
Register precautionary treatments
Register precautionary treatments like deworming and vaccinations in ‘precautionary treatment’. When you plan the precautionary treatments periodically, they will appear on the work list.
Report death
Report a single or multiple pigs dead in ‘report death’.
Group treatments
Registering a treatment on a group level is possible in multiple ways. Register a disease on multiple animals and start the treatment, or register a single medication to one or more animals in a pen/group/room. In the video, we show you the single administration on a pen.
Registrations of feed, weights and other data is getting more and more important in pig industry. Our app facilitates that.
Weighing pigs
Weighing pigs is possible via different routes. Perform action -> weigh pigs facilitates weighing of individual pigs. Connect with a Bluetooth scale (only if connectable with LeeO) or add the weights of the pigs manually.
Feed registration
Feed registration in the app is currently mostly focused on research. There are three options in feed registration: balance, add manually, or show feed plans.
- Balance: select the feeder you want to balance, weigh the feeder – including the feed – and balance it to a new weight.
- Add manually: select your preferred feeding method – feeding bag or bucket – weigh an empty bag or bucket
- Show feed plans: shows all feed plans you created in the Portal. Check how much feed there is still to give that day.
Are you planning on using the feed registration for research? Please contact your FarmCoach!
Fat thickness
Register the fat thickness of a pig. You can register one measurement on each side of the pig (left and right).
Neutering
Register the neutering of pigs per individual animal, multiple animals, pens, rooms or groups of pigs.
Add notes
Add notes on pens, rooms or pigs. This note will be added to the pig or pen. When exporting sow cards, the note added to a sow will also be printed on the sow card.
Register heat
Register a gilt in heat. Follow their development and keep track if their cycle is regular. At the first heat registration, you will have the option to mark the pig as a breeding pig.
When locating your animals, keeping track of pig movements is essential. Registering the animals in the right pen carefully creates possibilities: track feed intake like you never did before, register group treatments and transports more easily, and know exactly how many animals there are on your farm.
Moving to the pen
Move a single pig or multiple pigs to the pen you want to move them to. Select the destination pen and scan the pigs you want to move to the pen.
Send transport
To guarantee the traceability of pigs and to change ownership, it is important to put the pigs on transport. Because of the individuality of the system, each pig needs to be scanned to change owners. When the pigs go to the slaughterhouse, they also need to be put on transport to sign out the pigs in your own barn.
Receive transports
Receive transports from a multiplier or a nursery farm. Know exactly how many pigs there will be arriving and place them in the right pen.
In the column miscellaneous, all other registration options will be shown. Click on one of the buttons to see the instruction videos.
Change the code or ear tag
Change the code or ear tag from a pig that lost its ear tag, or when a young gilt is being marked as a breeding pig and needs a code. Scan the old tag, then scan the new tag or write down the code. When there is a pig in a pen and you don’t know the pig’s number, scan the other pigs in the pen and change the number of the pig that lost the ear tag. Click here for the instruction video for pigs with lost ear tags.
Allotments
Create allotments via the app. Select the pens you want to allot the group in, define your group size per pen, divide into test groups and select the number of test groups. Allot based on weights and exclude specific diseases you don’t want to be part of the group. After scanning a pig, the app will tell you in what pen to place the pig.
Register anomaly
Register anomalies on pigs and find a connection between the anomaly and breed/mother/father/etc.
Mark as breeding pig
Mark young gilts or boars as breeding pig to separate them from production pigs. This way, the gilts will be presented on the work lists.
Abortion
Stop a pregnancy in abortion. This way, the sow will be marked as aborted, not pregnant, and will reappear on the work lists.
Add new pigs
Add new pigs to your barn in “add new pigs”.
Link slaughter tags
When slaughterhouses use special tags to send the slaughter results back to, these tags can be connected to the ear tag the pig is wearing, creating the possibility to link them.
Correct error
Correct your own mistakes by undoing or updating them. This is possible until three days after registration.
My performed surveys
To check if you have performed all surveys needed for that day, the app shows you a list with the surveys done that day.
My registration history
This list shows all registrations of the past 3 days.
